Rain or Shine

October 27th, 2006

Farmer’s Market has been a fun time! I am enjoying seeing many customers and meeting new people too. I will be there rain or shine tomorrow. I will have the following:

Frozen Soups – Chicken (hormone and preservative free), Sweet Potato, Chili and Lime
Tom Kha Gai
Highland Guatemalan Chicken
Carribean Coconut Stew

Focaccia – Roasted Eggplant, Yellow and Red Pepper
Sundried Tomato, Black Olives and Feta

9-grain Bread, Bran Muffins, cookies and Hot drinks!

It was great to see many of you Saturday. Thanks for the support and encouraging words. We were sold out of all the bread, focaccia and cookies by 11:00 and we had to back home to get more soups! We hope to be more prepared for you on Tuesday at the Farmers Market in the Harrisonburg Municipal parking lot across from the DN-R.

Thanks,

Katrina

Unless I break a leg or something like that, I am planning on finally being at Farmer’s Market tomorrow. I won’t have a ton of stuff, but will be selling my 9-grain bread, cookies and frozen soups by the quart. You can expect the following soups:

*Nigerian Chicken, Bean and Cabbage
*Very Vegetable, Vegetable Soup
*Chicken, Sweet Potatoe, Chili and Lime
*Thom Kha Gai (Thai coconut based Chicken Soup)

Farmer’s Market is from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm and located in the municipal parking lot in front of the DNR. I hope to see you there!

Creative Options

October 17th, 2006

Many of you have been encouraging and prodding me to continue providing the products that you have grown to know over the past year and a half. During this interim period until we are back into a location, we are sorting through some creative options for meeting the demand of healthy, hearty food with an international zing in Harrisonburg. Here are some options we are considering:

1) Farmers Market: Soon and very soon I will be present at the Harrisonburg Farmers Market on Saturdays and Tuesday. However, this only lasts until the week before Thanksgiving. I hope to be there by this Saturday, October 21.

2) Pick-Up Point: For those who are unable to make it to the Farmers Market I am considering a pick-up point in the late afternoon/early evening hours during the week, once or twice a week. I would love to hear your ideas of where and when it would be best for you! What products would you most like to see if you are picking it up, for example, on a Thursday afternoon around 5:30 p.m.?

3) Subscription Service: I am considering an idea that I’ve heard about (thanks John for the idea) which might help those of you wanting a guaranteed, healthy, hearty meal at least a few times a week. Some of us subscribe to magazines, some to health clubs, others to newspaper delivery, why not subscribe to a few meals a week where you can depend on tasty, comfort food that leaves you feeling good about what you put in your body? I am trying to develop this idea and would appreciate any input and insight you would have on this idea. Think about an idea where a cooler filled with freshly made salad, quarts of hearty soup, and fresh-baked bread are waiting for you to swing by and pick up for your family on Monday and Thursday night: effortless, healthy, and with a high expectancy of tasty yumminess!

I would love to hear your feedback to any or all of these ideas. Thanks for your interest in our future as we are in our “figuring it all out” phase.

Having fun with ideas and missing you all,

Katrina

America The Beautiful!

October 11th, 2006

Today I drove by a fast food establisment and saw this sign out front that said, “Tired of Hamburgers? Try a Hot Dog!
Now there’s something refreshingly different!!
Hot Dog in a Jar

Like last year, we sold out of lot’s of food!  The “Choco-Bananas” were a huge hit again.  It was good seeing many of you and hearing words of encouragement.  Thanks for coming by!
