Win Free Soup and Bread!!

December 28th, 2006

My way-cool friend Trish told me that my yummy soups don’t have way-cool names. I can’t have that, so I am giving the opportunity for you to help me find the perfect name for some of my soups. Take a look at the below list and create some great names. Click on “Comments” above to enter your “way-cool soup names” and be sure to leave contact information if you want to get your winning prize. The winners will receive a free quart of the soup they named and a loaf of A Bowl of Good’s nine grain bread.

Here are the soups we need to name:

  • Carribean Coconut Stew
  • Highland Guatemalan Chicken Soup
  • Country Lentil Soup
  • Chicken and Sweet Potato with Chipotle and Lime
  • Cincinatti Chili
  • Very Vegetable, Vegetable Soup
  • Wild Julianna’s Wild Rice and Mushroom
  • Nigerian Chicken, Bean and Cabbage

Dear Friends,

I do hope you are all doing well and enjoying a wonderful season in anticipation of Christmas. I have not been in very good touch over the last few weeks, but must say that I have truly enjoyed Christmas preparations this year with my family. I was so busy last year that I barely remember anything. What a nice change.

I want to let you all know that I am still baking and making bread and soup. VDACS came out and inspected my home (for bread production) and the kitchen I rent (for soup production); both inspections went well, so… I can keep on pedalin’ soup and bread. Yippee.

I have just begun selling bread at the new Russian Market (called Save and Prosper) on 42 North right by the stockyards. I may soon sell frozen soups there too. I am also trying to secure a spot on the East side of town to begin in the New Year. Surely, it is going to get cold outside evenutally, so y’all are going to need soup, right?

I am also pleased to let you know that I will be supplying soup and bread to the new tea room, called Earth and Tea Cafe, that will soon be opening downtown. This cafe is targeted to open in January. You will be able to get hot soups with my bread there as well as frozen soups by the quart and bread by the loaf. You will find A Bowl of Good and Earth and Tea Cafe working together at First Night to warm your bellies with hot Teas and hot Soups. Stay tuned for more info.

December 11th, 2006

Wow! Life moves fast! Farmer’s Market ended the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I really enjoyed the Market. Thank you to all of you who made it down there. It was fun seeing so many of you and I appreciated your continued patronage.
