Beginning this Wednesday, July 7th, something will be happening that is NOT related to the World Cup at A Bowl of Good! For the month of July, on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m., we’re hosting an International Storytime where we will discover culture through books and food with a complimentary snack provided. This Wednesday we will begin with “Yoko”: A kitten brings sushi to school, and shares Japanese culture with her classmates.
We look forward to seeing children of all ages!

5:45 pm Stories from Jamaica and Trinidad: Galen and Gloria Lehman are Virginia Mennonite Missions Representatives for the Caribbean, and have travelled in the Caribbean many times. They will share stories from Virginia Mennonite Mission work in Jamaica and Trinidad.
6:30 pm Earthquake Response in Haiti: Anje Cassel, an ER Nurse in Fishersville, VA, participated in a medical mission trip from the Shenandoah Valley (connected with VMM and MCC) to Haiti to respond to the disaster. MCC Rep Luke Schrock-Hurst will share briefly about MCC’s response.
7:15 pm Environmental Nightmare in the Caribbean: Doug Graber Neufeld, EMU Biology Professor, works primarily with the Environmental Science program at EMU, with a concentration in issues that relate to environmental monitoring. Doug’s research is in collaboration with students and focuses on issues of environmental toxicology and monitoring. We’re gearing up for the JMU Graduation this weekend. ABOG’s reputation is growing for providing a good family alternative for a reasonably priced, healthy, tasty meal. Come on in or find a relaxing outdoor table to celebrate your day!
A recent NPR report provided some insight as to why A Bowl of Good’s “Red, White, and Moo” Chili and Pho Soup (on Fridays) might be even better to eat than just just the great flavor and freshness – the grass-fed meat ingredients have a higher Omega-3 count than grain-fed meat. You can read the report here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=125722082

This Friday, April 9 from 5-8 p.m. A Bowl of Good will feature Vietnamese Cuisine; Artisan’s Hope will offer a 15% discount on all items from Vietnam (including planters). If you came to the last Explore India night you’ll know why this is such a special event w/ the special cuisine, atmosphere and electric buzz. See you then!
